Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will operate the Forest Prenatal Care program for pregnant women from April to early July.
The "Forest Prenatal Care" program is designed for pregnant women and their spouses in Geumcheon-gu who are between 16 and 32 weeks of pregnancy. It aims to relieve stress caused by pregnancy, promote emotional bonding between the mother and fetus, and support a healthy childbirth.
The program will be held at the Prenatal Care Center within Hoamsan Healing Forest, conducted by experts including forest healing instructors and forest prenatal care instructors, over 6 weekday sessions and 12 weekend sessions.
Various programs are prepared to create eco-friendly prenatal care items using natural forest materials, including ▲Natural Moss Cube Mobile (Forest Scent Prenatal Care) ▲Wooden Speaker for Mobile Phones (Forest Sound Prenatal Care) ▲Fetal Item Pouch (Forest Color Prenatal Care) ▲Memory Box (Forest Craft Prenatal Care) ▲Forest Yoga and Making Heat Packs (Forest Meditation Prenatal Care) ▲Commemorative Album (Forest Story Prenatal Care).
The education schedule can be checked on the Geumcheon-gu Public Health Center website under ‘News’. Pregnant women over 16 weeks interested in the program can apply through the ‘Seoul Pregnancy and Childbirth Information Center’ by June 27. Selection will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
A pregnant participant expressed satisfaction, saying, “While making prenatal care items directly in nature, I was able to bond with my baby and supplement the reduced amount of exercise by walking in the forest.”
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “I hope the forest prenatal care program, centered on natural experiences and sensory activities, will help pregnant women achieve mental and physical stability and healthy childbirth. We will continue to actively support the health of pregnant women and fetuses.”
Last year, a total of 315 pregnant women and their spouses participated in 30 sessions of the forest prenatal care program, receiving great responses.
