Guro-gu will operate the 'Children's School Commute Traffic Safety Guidance Project' from March to December this year to ensure the safe commute of children.

The 'Children's School Commute Traffic Safety Guidance Project' is designed to protect children from various dangers that may occur during their commute by assigning traffic safety guides near elementary school routes.

In December last year, Guro-gu conducted a preliminary demand survey targeting elementary schools within the district and selected eight schools that wished to participate as this year's project targets (△ Gaebong Elementary School △ Gocheok Elementary School △ Maebong Elementary School △ Shinmirim Elementary School △ Oryu Elementary School △ Yeongseo Elementary School △ Hangdong Elementary School △ Haneulsup Elementary School), assigning traffic safety guides to each school.

The traffic safety guides assigned to each school meet with lower-grade elementary students (grades 1 to 3) who share the same commuting direction at designated times and places, informing them of traffic safety rules and accompanying them on their commute. This has been effective in preventing various safety accidents and child crimes, receiving great support from parents.

For inquiries related to the Children's School Commute Traffic Safety Guidance Project, please contact the Traffic Administration Division of Guro-gu Office. A Guro-gu official stated, "We will continue to strive to create a safe commute for children," and added, "We will also promote effective traffic safety policies by reflecting the opinions of parents and students in the future."
