The inspection will focus on: ▲whether the playground facilities meet safety standards ▲the adequacy of safety inspection log management ▲compliance with safety management obligations such as installation inspections, safety education, and insurance coverage.
According to data released by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, an analysis of 174 major accidents nationwide last year showed that 93 cases, or 53% of the total, occurred between March and June. As a result, Pohang City plans to focus its facility inspections on improving the safety of children's playgrounds during this period.
Based on the inspection results, issues that can be resolved immediately will be addressed on-site, while facilities with high risk levels will be subject to measures such as prohibition of use to prevent safety accidents.
Vice Mayor Jang Sangkil stated, "Protecting children's safety is a task that requires the participation of all members of the local community, so I ask for everyone's interest," and added, "We will do our best through this inspection to create an environment where children can play safely and parents can feel at ease."
