Namyangju City, Recruiting Representatives for the 25th Jeongsoon Queen Selection Contest

Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 14th that it is recruiting citizens to participate as representatives of our city in the "25th Queen Jeongsun Selection Contest" held in its sister city, Yeongwol County.

The "Queen Jeongsun Selection Contest" is an event honoring the spirit of Queen Jeongsun, the consort of Danjong, and the final competition will be held on April 25 at the Donggang Riverside in Yeongwol County, targeting married women nationwide.

Namyangju City plans to discover two citizens who can express the life and spirit of Queen Jeongsun in their own stories through this selection. Eligibility is open to any married woman residing in Namyangju.

The selected citizens will participate in the finals as city representatives, and the city will also support certain expenses such as costume preparation for the final competition. In addition, all finalists can serve as promotional ambassadors for Yeongwol County.

A total of six winners will be selected in this competition. One person selected as the grand prize winner, "Queen Jeongsun," will receive a crystal plaque, a queen's scepter, and a prize of 5 million KRW. One person each will be awarded the titles of △Gwonbin and △Kimbin, receiving a crystal plaque and a prize of 2 million KRW. Winners of the △Donggang Award, △Daram Award, and △Popularity Award will each receive a prize of 1 million KRW and a plaque.

Citizens wishing to participate can download the application form from the announcements section on the city’s website, complete it, and submit it via email from the 26th to 6 p.m. on the 28th.
