'Daum News' Stopped... Service Outage for 3 Hours

At around 10 a.m. on the 14th, a search for 'Artificial Intelligence' was conducted on the Daum and Naver search bars. On the Daum search bar, the most recent article appeared as the one posted at 6:49 a.m.

The news service of the portal site 'Daum' experienced a temporary outage on the morning of the 14th, causing inconvenience to users.

Daum news search has not been available since around 7 a.m. that day. When entering a search term on the Daum homepage, the most recent article displayed is one posted around 7:05 a.m.

Earlier, Kakao shared plans at a town hall meeting held the previous day to spin off Daum's in-house independent company (CIC) into a separate corporation. Kakao, which merged with Daum in 2014, had separated Daum as a CIC in 2023.

A Kakao representative stated, "There was a delay in displaying the latest news on Daum news search due to internal system processing delays," adding, "The service delay has now been resolved, and the exact cause of the service error is under investigation."
