On the 12th, Jang Donghyuk, a member of the People Power Party, stated, "Lee Jaemyung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, has filed for a request for a constitutional review just two weeks before the verdict on his violation of the Public Official Election Act," adding, "This is evidence that Lee's political life does not have much time left."

On his social networking service (SNS) account that day, Jang wrote, "After seeing the situation turn around following the decision to cancel President Yoon's detention, it appears that Lee's anxiety and impatience have reached their peak," and added, "Now, he is even spreading rumors of assassination."

He continued, "Lee's intention to take the case to the Constitutional Court is clear," and argued, "He is trying to delay the trial through the request for a constitutional review, and he has the vain hope that the Constitutional Court, which showed blatant bias during the presidential impeachment trial, will rule the law unconstitutional."

He added, "One of the reasons the Democratic Party is using all sorts of unreasonable tactics and tricks to appoint Ma Eunhyeok as a Constitutional Court justice is to secure a certain vote needed for an unconstitutional ruling," and emphasized, "That is why Ma Eunhyeok's appointment must not happen."

He went on to say, "Using a request for a constitutional review to delay a trial is a tactic that the 'Minnochong spy ring' used," and pointed out, "The Minnochong spy ring managed to delay their first trial for up to a year and six months through this method. However, even those who delayed their trials in this way could not avoid a heavy sentence of 15 years in prison."

Jang stated, "No matter how much Lee abuses legislative power, resorts to tricks in court, or colludes with the Constitutional Court, he cannot change the nature of his crime," and added, "Now, he should quietly wait for the court's verdict."

Meanwhile, Lee's side also filed a request for a constitutional review on April 4 concerning Article 250, Clause 1 of the Public Official Election Act, which stipulates punishment for the crime of announcing false facts for the purpose of being elected. The appellate court is scheduled to deliver the verdict on Lee's violation of the Public Official Election Act on the 26th.
