Seoul City will hold a forum to discuss the vision for Seoul's future spaces with world-renowned urban and architectural experts.
On the 12th, Seoul City announced that it will hold the "Nexus Seoul Next100 Chief Architect Partners Forum" on the 21st at the Seoul City Hall Multipurpose Hall.
The theme of the forum is "Seoul Asks, The World Answers." Since 2023, the city has been establishing a comprehensive urban and architectural spatial plan for Seoul's future city, and through this forum, it plans to gather diverse opinions.
The event will feature a keynote presentation on the direction of a sustainable future city. The overseas chief architect partners will respond to the presentation, and the forum will proceed in this manner. The chief architect partners are a consultative body composed of 10 domestic and international experts in fields such as urban planning, architecture, and design.
Byungkeun Kang, Seoul City's chief architect, will lead the presentation, and architects Dominique Perrault (France), Ben van Berkel (Netherlands), and J?rgen Mayer (Germany) will participate as panelists.
This forum is open only to citizens who pre-register through the Seoul City website for three days starting from the 13th.
Changsoo Lim, Director of Future Space Planning at Seoul City, stated, "We plan to actively reflect the various opinions derived from the forum in the Seoul 100-year future urban and architectural comprehensive spatial plan," adding, "We will establish a systematic plan to ensure Seoul develops as a sustainable city for future generations."
