Choo Mi-ae, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized Ji Gwi-yeon, the chief judge of the Seoul Central District Court who canceled the detention of President Yoon Seok-yeol, and Shim Woo-jung, the Prosecutor General, saying they "will be recorded as the most disgraceful figures in judicial history." On the 11th, Representative Choo pointed to Chief Judge Ji and Prosecutor General Shim through her social media (SNS), saying, "You who killed judicial justice and once again threw a bomb at the rule of law that the insurgent forces mock, stunning it." She continued, "Chief Judge Ji made an experimental ruling for the first time in 70 years regarding the insurgency case, and the prosecution was told to correct it through an appeal, while Shim Woo-jung released him saying the court's decision to cancel detention must be followed but disagreed with the reasons for the court's cancellation of detention," adding, "This is a clear case of self-contradiction." Earlier, on the 8th, Representative Choo also criticized, "Shim Woo-jung's abandonment of the immediate appeal means there was an initial 'decision to release.' It gave room for legal technicalities due to delayed prosecution. The people can be betrayed, but the cartel that protects its own interests cannot be betrayed."

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party's 'Myeong Tae-gyun Gate' fact-finding team criticized Chief Judge Ji for arbitrarily interpreting President Yoon's detention period and exceptionally deciding to cancel the detention. In particular, the commentary on the Criminal Procedure Act co-authored by Chief Judge Ji specifies that the detention period is calculated by days, but in this case of President Yoon's detention cancellation, the detention period was calculated based on hours, leading to the decision to release, according to the fact-finding team. Representative Yang Bu-nam said, "Chief Judge Ji calculated the detention period by hours, contrary to his own book, and it is questionable whether he would accept such a calculation method if an ordinary citizen requested it."
