On the 13th (local time), the PGA Tour's "fifth major," The Players Championship, will be held at TPC Sawgrass (par 72, 7,352 yards) in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, USA. The total prize money for this tournament is $25 million, which is more than the four major championships. The winner's prize is also $4.5 million, exceeding the $4 million winner's prize of the LIV Golf individual event sponsored by Saudi Arabian capital.

Top-tier players are fully assembled, with 48 out of the top 50 world-ranked players participating. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler (USA) is aiming to become the first player in the history of this tournament to win three consecutive titles. Since The Players Championship was established in 1974, Scheffler is the only player to have won back-to-back titles. If Scheffler wins again this year, he will be the first PGA Tour player in 14 years to win the same tournament three years in a row, since Steve Stricker (USA) won the John Deere Classic three consecutive times in 2011.

Kim Si-woo recalls pleasant memories from 2017. At that time, he became the second Korean player to claim the title after Choi Kyung-ju in 2011. He set the record as the youngest winner of this tournament at 22 years old. Kim Si-woo's recent form has also been good. Starting with 12th place at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February this year, he consistently posted mid-to-high rankings such as tied 21st at the Phoenix Open, tied 24th at the Genesis Invitational, and tied 19th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He will start the first round alongside Harry Hall (England) and Chris Gotterup (USA). Korea will also be represented by Im Sung-jae, Kim Joo-hyung, An Byeong-hun, and Lee Kyoung-hoon.
