President Yoon Seok-yeol, who was released on the 8th following the court's decision to cancel his detention, expressed his gratitude, stating, "Thank you to the Central District Court judges for their courage and determination in correcting the illegality."

원본보기 아이콘In a statement released through his legal representatives that afternoon, President Yoon said, "I deeply thank the many citizens who have supported me despite the cold weather, as well as our future generations."
The statement was orally conveyed by President Yoon while the prosecution was proceeding with the release order.
President Yoon also expressed, "I am grateful to the leadership of the People Power Party and all related parties," adding, "I was deeply saddened to hear the tragic news of someone who took their own life in protest of my detention.
I sincerely pray for their peaceful rest."
He continued, "There are also people currently imprisoned in connection with my detention," saying, "I pray for their swift release."
President Yoon stated, "There are also public officials who have suffered hardships while performing their duties under the constitutional authority of the president," adding, "I will pray for their prompt release and good health."
He expressed concern for those on hunger strikes, saying, "I worry about their health," and added, "Now that your intentions have been fully conveyed, I hope you will stop. Once again, I bow my head in gratitude to all the citizens."
