The Silppuri Welfare Companion Group of Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) is receiving positive feedback from residents for delivering warm affection and love to neighbors in the community.

The Silppuri Welfare Companion Group is a neighborhood-level resident organization established to implement Mapo-gu’s unique dense welfare delivery system called ‘Silppuri Welfare’ and to eliminate welfare blind spots.

After its inauguration ceremony on November 6, 2024, the Silppuri Welfare Companion Group has been actively operating in all 16 neighborhoods of Mapo-gu.

The Ahyeon-dong Silppuri Welfare Companion Group directly assisted a disabled couple living in a cramped house without a bathroom to safely relocate to a rental apartment on December 2 last year.

Additionally, from January 15 to February 26 this year, they conducted a total of five smartphone education sessions called ‘Silppuri Eoullim Madang’ for seniors using the filial piety meal service, helping them easily adapt to and use digital devices.

The Seongsan 2-dong Silppuri Welfare Companion Group delivered kimchi made for kimjang to neighbors in need directly to the homes of elderly residents with mobility difficulties last December, helping them have a warm and hearty winter.

On March 11, they plan to carry out the ‘Ieum Care’ project, which involves cleaning and organizing accumulated trash and belongings for elderly single-person households living in rental apartments, providing them with a comfortable living space.

In Mangwon 2-dong, the Silppuri Welfare Companion Group cleaned the Mangwon 2-dong 1st Senior Center, a meal service institution for filial piety meals, in February to create a clean environment where seniors can dine hygienically and comfortably.

The Seogang-dong Silppuri Welfare Companion Group also donated 1 million won, collected with care for the elderly, to the filial piety meal project, spreading the value of sharing within the local community.

Starting in April, the Silppuri Welfare Companion Group in Daehyeong-dong will implement the ‘Warmth Sharing Project’ aimed at promoting health and building social networks for low-income single-person households at high risk of social isolation.

Additionally, the ‘Together with Gongdeok-dong Silppuri Welfare Companion Group’ project in Gongdeok-dong, ‘Wise Dohwa Life’ in Dohwa-dong, ‘Dense Yonggang Making’ in Yonggang-dong, ‘Eoureong Deoureong Yeomri Welfare Network’ in Yeomri-dong, and ‘Happy Silppuri Companion’ project in Sinsu-dong are reaching out to our neighbors.

Moreover, the ‘Silppuri Love Sharing Project’ in Seogyo-dong, ‘Creating Affection in Hapjeong’ in Hapjeong-dong, ‘Mangwon Jeong (Affection) Sharing’ in Mangwon 1-dong, ‘Making Dense Yeonnam-dong Like Silppuri’ in Yeonnam-dong, ‘Happy Sharing Silppuri Project’ in Seongsan 1-dong, and ‘Sangam Sarangeum’ in Sangam-dong are also expected to bring a warm breeze to the local community.

Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, “The role of the Companion Group is very important to realize the dense Silppuri Welfare that permeates the lives of residents,” and added, “We ask for their continued active activities for our neighbors and the formation of the local community.”
