FineTec, a specialized company in OLED and secondary battery equipment (CEO Kang Won-il), announced on the 4th that it achieved consolidated sales of 71 billion KRW, operating profit of 1.9 billion KRW, and net profit of 2.6 billion KRW last year.

FineTec's sales last year grew by 53.7% compared to the previous year, and operating profit and net profit, which recorded losses last year, turned positive.

The company stated that this strong performance was due to growth in the touch system business of the components division, an increase in orders for display manufacturing equipment in the equipment division, and increased supply of secondary battery manufacturing equipment.

In particular, the touch system business of the components division steadily grew at an average annual growth rate of about 24.5%, followed by an increase in orders for manufacturing equipment in the 'display sector' of the equipment division and increased supply of manufacturing equipment in the 'secondary battery sector.'

The company expects growth this year through increased supply of secondary battery manufacturing equipment and various order contracts. Additionally, it plans to add quantum computer-related business to the equipment division. FineTec continues to collaborate with 'SDT,' the only domestic quantum computer manufacturer holding extensive intellectual property rights across quantum technologies.

OLED and secondary battery manufacturers adopt an 'Inline System' (a system where substrates move while bonding processes occur) to maximize productivity of automation solutions. In this process, efforts are made to enhance the 'Automated Optical Inspection' system to improve yield and defect inspection accuracy. FineTec plans to advance this 'Automated Optical Inspection' by applying SDT's quantum technology.

A FineTec representative said, "Last month, we already secured an order worth 5.4 billion KRW for secondary battery manufacturing equipment and announced the supply contract. We expect various orders this year in both OLED and secondary battery equipment businesses." He added, "Recently, technological progress has rapidly advanced across industries from AI and robotics to quantum technology. Through collaboration with SDT, the only domestic quantum computer manufacturer, FineTec plans to create additional growth not only in advanced 'Automated Optical Inspection' but also in various new business areas such as lifestyle convenience equipment."
