GS Construction announced on the 4th that CEO Heo Yoon-hong will participate in the 'Improving Awareness of Population Issues' campaign.

The relay campaign to improve awareness of population issues aims to raise social awareness about population problems, low birth rates, and aging. It was jointly planned by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Human Resource Development Institute for Health and Welfare. CEO Heo joined the campaign after being nominated by Song Byung-joon, Chairman of Com2uS.

Previously, in July last year, GS Construction reformed its internal systems to help employees balance work and family throughout the entire cycle from pregnancy to childbirth and childcare. In particular, even if there are local government programs such as support for infertility treatment costs and postpartum care centers, the company introduced additional support measures at the corporate level.

Additionally, the legally designated parental leave period was extended to allow employees to use up to one more year, and paternity leave for male employees was doubled from the existing 10 days.

Furthermore, GS Construction has been operating an on-site daycare center since 2010, the first in the construction industry. Currently, the GS Construction in-house daycare center operates with a capacity of 64 children and provides childcare services for employees' children aged 1 to 5.

CEO Heo stated, "As the low birth rate issue is emerging as a major social concern, it is important to create effective internal systems and foster an atmosphere where employees can use them without hesitation. GS Construction will continue to actively listen to employees' opinions, support work-life balance, participate in solving social problems, and do its best to secure corporate competitiveness through talent management."

Meanwhile, CEO Heo nominated Cho Hyun-min, President of Hanjin, as the next participant.
