According to the Wando Coast Guard on the 2nd, the body of Mr. A (68) was discovered at around 4:03 p.m. that day, approximately 1 km southeast of Galdu Port in Songji-myeon, Haenam-gun. No signs of trauma or criminal activity were found on Mr. A's body. The Coast Guard believes the couple became stranded in the mudflats by the rising tide and were swept away by the water.

Previously, at around 8:52 p.m. on the 1st, the family reported that the couple had not returned home. At the same time, a resident also reported, "The husband is looking for his wife in the mudflats, and it seems dangerous." The couple was last seen around 3 p.m. that day heading toward the mudflats with a handcart, as captured by CCTV at Galdu Port pier. Only a handcart believed to belong to them was left at the fish farm.

The Coast Guard has deployed five vessels, including one patrol boat, one Wando rescue team boat, and three coastal rescue boats, along with 26 personnel for the maritime search. On land, 44 people, including firefighters and local residents, are searching the surrounding area.

Based on the location where Mr. A was found and the direction of the currents, the Coast Guard is expanding the search area to find his wife, Ms. B (63).
