Accused of Approaching Minors and Attempting to Solicit Sex
In the United States, a number of men who attempted to solicit sex from minors via the internet have been arrested. Among them are two Korean men in their 20s and 40s, causing shock in the local community. The Opelika Police Department in Alabama announced on the 26th (local time) through their website and social media that they arrested 11 men from the 20th to the 21st as a result of an investigation into 'child sexual exploitation.' The police listed the suspects' names, ages, mugshots, and detailed charges.

Some of them were found to have traveled to the areas where the minors lived for the purpose of sexual encounters. The list includes 28-year-old Korean national A and 43-year-old Korean national B.
A and B are charged with soliciting minors for prostitution, online enticement of children, and approaching children for illegal prostitution. However, the two are known to be from different regions. A man in his 40s living in Johns Creek, Georgia, was arrested on charges of minor prostitution, computer-based child enticement, and meeting children for illegal sexual acts. A man in his 20s from Auburn, Alabama, faces the same charges. The police have urged anyone with information related to these cases to report it via phone or mobile applications.
Meanwhile, U.S. federal law prohibits inducing minors under 18 to cross state lines for prostitution, and if convicted, heavy penalties are imposed. Additionally, sending information with the intent to entice or persuade minors under 16 to engage in sexual acts, or attempting to do so, can result in fines or imprisonment of up to five years.
