Jongno-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeong Munheon) will conduct a "Spring Cleaning" throughout March. The cleaning involves not only removing fine dust accumulated in public facilities but also thoroughly washing away calcium chloride left on roads after snow removal. Additionally, residents and merchants voluntarily clean in front of their homes and stores in residential and commercial alleys to help create a clean urban environment.

On the 28th, ahead of the 106th anniversary of the March 1st Movement commemoration ceremony, a pilot spring cleaning event will be held around Tapgol Park, a historic site of the independence movement in Jongno-gu. As the first schedule of the "Cleaning Day," environmental officers and district employees will clean Tapgol Park.

On the 13th of next month, cleaning will take place in Daehangno, on the 17th at Changsin Alley Market, and on the 28th at Tongin Market, totaling four sessions. To support the water cleaning operations, the district will deploy a total of 26 cleaning vehicles, including eight water trucks, and will also work with local community centers to remove cigarette butts and collect trash around street trees and green areas.

Trash abandoned around residential areas, streams, and hillsides will also be thoroughly cleaned. On designated dates for each neighborhood, accumulated waste from the winter will be collected to create a clean community.

Furthermore, from April to November, public and private sectors will jointly hold "Cleaning Community Meetings" to address local cleaning issues. In narrow alleys or residential areas where large vehicles cannot enter, resident-led village cleaning will be promoted to enhance community spirit and resolve longstanding cleaning problems. In the 17 neighborhood meetings, when a region is designated and the responsible department is requested for related equipment and environmental officer support, joint cleaning will be conducted accordingly.

Mayor Jeong Munheon stated, "We conduct spring cleaning every year to provide residents with a pleasant living environment," and added, "We ask for active participation in cleaning in front of your homes and stores."
