U.S. President Donald Trump on the 24th (local time) rejected labeling Vladimir Putin as a "dictator," saying, "I don't use that word."
Before a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the White House that day, when a reporter asked if he would use the term dictator for President Putin as well, Trump said, "I don't use such words lightly."
President Trump added, "As you know, you are talking about Europe and discussing Ukraine as part of the whole situation, but the other side (Russia) also has a lot of support."
Earlier, when Trump called Volodymyr Zelensky a dictator, he did not answer when asked if he also considered President Putin a dictator. Recently, Trump criticized Ukrainian President Zelensky as a "dictator with only a 4% approval rating."
