Strict Crackdown and Legal Action
Police Investigation Requested for Suspected Scalping Cases on Danggeun Market and Junggonara

Suseo High-Speed Railway (SRT) operator SR announced on the 20th that it has requested a police investigation after detecting signs of illegal macro program usage during the ticket reservation period for the Lunar New Year holiday.

SR referred nine members suspected of using illegal macro programs to the police for investigation the previous day. These individuals attempted over 1 million connections each from the 13th of last month to the 2nd of this month. The total number of connection attempts reached 64 million. Among them, one person was confirmed to have attempted 31 million connections.

SR stated, "Such actions cause system overload, disrupt normal operations, and clearly constitute obstruction of business by depriving legitimate customers of their reservation opportunities. There is a high possibility that this could lead to illegal activities such as ticket scalping, so we plan to strictly crack down and take legal measures."

To eradicate illegal activities, SR has strengthened its passenger transport terms and conditions to allow revocation of membership for those suspected of repeatedly purchasing large quantities of tickets and then canceling them or using macro programs.

Additionally, SR has requested police investigations into 182 suspected cases of ticket scalping identified on secondhand trading platforms such as Danggeun Market, Junggonara, and Bungaejangter.

Lee Jong-guk, CEO of SR, said, "We will thoroughly crack down on illegal macro usage and strengthen systems to prevent recurrence. If ticket fraud is detected, we will respond strongly by taking legal action and immediately revoking membership to protect our honest customers."
