The donation will be used to expand medical equipment at Yonsei University College of Dentistry Hospital and to establish a smart medical treatment environment.
As part of the senior-specialized care food development business agreement signed with Yonsei University College of Dentistry in January last year, Hyundai Green Food will also conduct joint clinical research utilizing dental medicine specialized research technology. The research involves providing softened and liquid diets with adjusted viscosity and nutritional components to elderly prosthetic treatment patients, then verifying the extent to which care food contributes to improving treatment effectiveness and quality of life.
Softened diets refer to foods that are similar in taste and form to regular foods but are cooked soft enough to be consumed with the tongue or gums. They offer more variety in taste and types compared to liquid diets, which focus on ease of swallowing by grinding all ingredients. The company explains that dietary diversity is essential because health management through care food requires consistent and long-term consumption without boredom.
Kim Haegon, Head of Strategic Planning at Hyundai Green Food, said, "Among prosthetic treatment patients, the elderly who require sufficient nutritional intake make up a very high proportion. Elderly people with reduced chewing ability tend to have poor meals and often suffer from nutritional imbalance. Through clinical research, we expect to improve our care food manufacturing capabilities to help the elderly easily and balancedly intake nutrition."

Hyundai Green Food has continuously made various efforts to advance care food in Korea. In 2020, when the concept of care food was unfamiliar domestically, it invested about 100 billion KRW to build the 'Smart Food Center,' a specialized care food manufacturing facility, and launched the care food brand GREATING. The Smart Food Center is equipped with specialized equipment for producing softened diets, such as a saturated steam oven. Additionally, Hyundai Green Food participates in various government projects necessary for establishing domestic care food policies and conducts academic research in collaboration with universities and others.
