Government: "North Korea dismantling Geumgangsan separated families reunion center... Strong regret"

The government expressed strong regret over North Korea's demolition of the Geumgangsan separated families reunion center and demanded an immediate halt to the action.

On the 13th, the Ministry of Unification issued a statement saying, "We express strong regret over North Korea's unilateral demolition of the Geumgangsan separated families reunion center, which was established by inter-Korean agreement, and sternly urge an immediate cessation of this demolition activity."

The Ministry of Unification stated, "The demolition of the Geumgangsan separated families reunion center is an inhumane act that tramples on the hopes of separated families and a serious infringement on our national property," adding, "North Korea's unilateral demolition cannot be justified under any pretext, and all responsibility for this incident lies entirely with the North Korean authorities."

The Ministry of Unification also stated, "The government will review necessary measures, including legal actions related to this matter and cooperation with the international community."
