Kia has unveiled teaser images of new vehicles that will lead the era of electric vehicle (EV) popularization. Kia announced the expansion of its electrification lineup targeting the global market, showcasing everything from the brand’s first electric sedan to purpose-built vehicles (PBV) and compact electric sport utility vehicles (SUV).
On the 13th, Kia revealed teaser images and videos of two new vehicles and one concept car: the brand’s first electric sedan EV4, the purpose-built vehicle (PBV) PV5, and the compact electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) EV2 concept car.
Kia plans to showcase these three vehicles at the 2025 Kia EV Day, to be held later this month at the Tarraco Arena in Tarragona, Spain.
The EV4 is a model whose concept car was unveiled at the 2023 EV Day. Following the EV6, EV9, and EV3, it is Kia’s fourth dedicated electric vehicle to be introduced in the domestic market. Along with the EV3, it is an electrified sedan that will lead the popularization of electric vehicles.
The silhouette of the EV4’s side revealed in the teaser image breaks away from the conventional notion of a typical sedan, showing the direction of the next-generation electrified sedan Kia pursues.
The PV5, whose concept car was unveiled last year at CES, the world’s largest electronics and IT exhibition, is the first model in Kia’s PBV lineup applying a new platform dedicated to PBVs. It features a robust yet futuristic design based on diverse practicality.
The newly introduced concept EV2 is a compact SUV developed to suit both urban and outdoor lifestyles. The front of the concept EV2 emphasizes a confident yet sophisticated look, combining separated star map signature lighting with a sturdy body.
At the ‘2025 Kia EV Day’ held later this month, Kia will unveil an expanded electrification strategy that will transform the flow of the EV market. In addition, Kia will present its overall PBV business and product strategy, starting with the brand’s first dedicated PBV, the PV5.
