On the 4th, Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 5th that it had signed a supplementary agreement with the Yongin Office of Education to proceed with detailed projects for the 'Yongin Future Education Cooperation District.'
This supplementary agreement is a follow-up to the 'Yongin Future Education Cooperation District Memorandum of Understanding' signed by the two organizations in March 2023. This project aims to help students grow into well-rounded talents with character and capabilities by linking schools and local communities, and to provide various opportunities for them to find their own career paths.

In the agreement, the two organizations decided to prepare a total budget of 7,391,650,000 KRW to achieve three goals: ▲ an educational community that grows together through the activation of educational autonomy ▲ an educational community that grows harmoniously through local-linked education ▲ nurturing glocal future talents based on local characteristics. The city will bear 4,947,650,000 KRW, and the Yongin Office of Education will bear 2,444,000,000 KRW of the related budget, respectively.
This year, the two organizations will operate 24 courses in 9 fields, including corporate-linked career education based on local characteristics and programs to strengthen future core competencies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and climate sensitivity.
Major projects include 'Dream Finding Education,' which supports distinctive curricula for each school; 'Career Education Drawing the Future,' for nurturing glocal convergence talents; and 'Digital Literacy, Yongin Art Maker,' for cultivating future talents.
In particular, this year, new initiatives will start, such as 'Career Mentoring,' where executives and employees of leading local advanced companies visit students; field-centered 'Job Experience Education'; and customized 'Y-Semiconductor Education' for elementary and secondary school levels.
A city official said, "We will closely cooperate with the Yongin Office of Education so that young people can nurture their dreams and grow together with the region," adding, "We will support the operation of diverse and creative educational programs by utilizing the human and material resources owned by the city."
