Busan Gijang-gun announced on the 5th that it was selected as the recipient of the 'Environment Category' award at the '1st Korea Local Government Promotion Awards' organized by the Korea Media Video Education Promotion Institute (Chairman No Unha) and the Korea Local Government Promotion Awards Organizing Committee (Chairman Jeong Unchan).

원본보기 아이콘This award was established to discover and share excellent cases of local governments expressing their policies and visions through media content. Its purpose is to actively communicate with residents through creative policy promotion and to promote regional development.
The award ceremony was held on the 5th from 2 p.m. at the National Assembly Members' Office Building, hosted by the Korea Media Video Education Promotion Institute, together with the Korea Mayors, County Governors, and District Heads Association, and the Korean Local Autonomy Association, proceeding in the order of ▲Part 1: Local Government Innovation Development Forum ▲Part 2: 1st Korea Local Government Promotion Awards.
At the ceremony, after rigorous evaluation of various video contents submitted by local governments nationwide, excellent local governments, promotional ambassadors, and YouTubers were selected as final winners in seven categories including ▲Policy ▲Environment ▲Tourism ▲Social Welfare.
Gijang-gun submitted the video ‘Gijang 8 Views & Gijang Healing Tour,’ which captures the area's pristine natural scenery and eco-friendly tourism resources, achieving the distinction of being selected as the promotional winner in the ‘Environment Category.’
In particular, the video was highly praised for introducing Gijang’s natural environment where nature breathes life, while presenting ways for people to heal and coexist with nature.
County Governor Jeong Jongbok said, “We are very pleased that our excellent promotional video content, which embodies our county’s policies and vision, has been recognized externally through this award. Moving forward, we will continue to pursue multifaceted activities to protect our precious natural environment, along with eco-friendly tourism development projects, to maintain our reputation as a premium tourist city where nature and urban life coexist.”
