The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 5th the final appointment of 10 key personnel for major positions effective March 1 this year.
In this round of appointments, Kim Younggil, Superintendent of the Future Education Division, was appointed as Director of the Future Education Division at the main office, while Shim Chisook, Superintendent of the Glocal Education Cooperation Division, was named Director of the Education Autonomy Division. Park Cheolwan, Principal of Gurye Dong Middle School, was appointed as Director of the Secondary Education Division, and Jeon Seonga, Principal of Byeongyeong Sang High School, was assigned as Director of the Career Education Division.
Appointments for heads of affiliated institutions were also made. Kim Oknan, Head of the Education Support Division at Gurye Office of Education, was appointed as Director of the Educational Research and Information Institute, and Kim Byeongin, Principal of Maeseong High School, was named Director of the Educational Training Institute. In the regional education office appointments, Lee Jihyun, Director of the Secondary Education Division, was appointed as Hwasun Education Office Director; Jeong Haengjung, Principal of Bonghwang High School, as Jangheung Education Office Director; Yoon Youngseop, Principal of Hwasun Elementary School, as Gangjin Education Office Director; and Jeong Byeongguk, Director of the Education Autonomy Division, as Yeonggwang Education Office Director.
The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education stated that it maintained its principle of placing the right people in the right positions in order to realize "Glocal Jeonnam Education, where the region and the world coexist." In particular, the office evaluated that it selected individuals with extensive field experience for key positions, such as assigning the directors of the Secondary Education Division and the Education Autonomy Division as heads of education support offices, to ensure the stable promotion of glocal education.
Superintendent Kim Daejung said, "We will realize glocal education so that Jeonnam's children in 2025 can leap beyond the region into the world and grow as creative and inclusive talents for the future," adding, "The key personnel selected this time will take the lead in stably implementing these policies."
