Cargo Truck Hits Central Divider on Namhae Expressway... Chain Collision with Container on Opposite Lane

At around 3:43 a.m. on the 5th, a 25-ton trailer traveling on the Namhae Expressway near the Dongchangwon Interchange (IC) in Dong-eup, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam, heading towards Suncheon, collided with the central divider.

Due to the impact of the accident, the container loaded on the vehicle fell onto the opposite lane, and four vehicles coming from the opposite direction collided with the container. A following passenger car then collided again with the falling debris.

As a result of the accident, two people, including drivers and passengers of the vehicles, sustained serious injuries, and five others suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital.

The trailer and the accident vehicles blocked the road, causing traffic congestion near the accident site for some time.

The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
