On the 5th, the Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Kibo) announced that it held the '2025 1st Management Strategy Workshop' at its headquarters in Busan, attended by executives, department heads, and nationwide branch managers.
This workshop was organized under the theme "Beyond Crisis, Towards the Future!" to review last year's management performance and share key tasks for 2025. Specifically, discussions were held on ▲ Kibo's current issues and future plans ▲ Demonstration of Kibo's specialized generative artificial intelligence (AI) ▲ Strategies for promoting global business, focusing on Kibo's role for a new leap forward amid changing internal and external management environments.
In his opening remarks, Kibo Chairman Kim Jong-ho stated, "The increasing uncertainty in the domestic and international economic environment is acting as a significant risk factor for our economy and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)." He urged, "We must proactively respond to the rapidly changing management environment and more actively fulfill our policy role to help SMEs and venture companies overcome crises and promote growth."
Last year, Kibo supplied guarantees totaling 29.5 trillion won, exceeding the initial plan by 2 trillion won, through expanding new securitization company guarantees and focusing support on key areas such as new growth and youth startups. Active guarantee-linked investments in startups, regional businesses, and new industries (semiconductors, robotics, engineering) led to the successful IPOs of four companies. Kibo also contributed to creating a voluntary technology innovation ecosystem in the private sector by establishing the Technology Evaluation Open Platform (K-TOP).
This year, Kibo will continue efforts to revitalize open technology innovation through advancing K-TOP, joint brokerage of technology transfers with private intermediary institutions, and support for SME mergers and acquisitions (M&A). By strengthening venture policy research functions and supporting venture companies through programs such as the Kibo Venture Camp and the Global Unicorn Project, Kibo plans to fulfill its role as the "No. 1 specialized institution supporting venture companies."
