Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will accept applications for the nonprofit private organization public interest activity support project until February 14.
The call for applications was prepared to support public interest projects carried out by nonprofit organizations, expand resident participation, and promote the development of public-private cooperation.
The support projects cover four areas: ▲ projects to establish a social safety net and improve residents' perception of urban safety ▲ spreading volunteer work and donation culture ▲ social welfare enhancement projects for vulnerable groups ▲ projects for culture, arts, sports, tourism, and promotion.
Nonprofit private organizations or nonprofit corporations primarily engaged in public interest activities may participate if they meet the following criteria: ▲ organizations eligible for subsidies based on laws or ordinances ▲ organizations whose direct beneficiaries are residents of Geumcheon-gu ▲ organizations with at least 20 Geumcheon-gu resident members and a record of public interest activities for more than one year (as of the announcement date) ▲ organizations able to bear at least 5% of the subsidy amount for the applied project as self-funding. However, the following are excluded: ▲ organizations without a representative or manager that are not corporations and social clubs ▲ organizations without public interest activity records for more than one year ▲ similar or duplicate projects by the same organization, organizations supporting specific political parties or elected candidates, or events/projects aimed at spreading doctrines of specific religions ▲ projects not aligned with the organization's articles of incorporation or bylaws ▲ events practically operated directly by local governments (such as hosting) ▲ organizations receiving duplicate support from the state or local governments for the same (or similar) projects.
Applications can be submitted online through the Local Subsidy Management System (Botaem e-System) or by visiting the relevant project department (organization support department) by February 14.
Whether the submitted projects will receive subsidy support and the amount of support will be decided by the Geumcheon-gu Subsidy Management Committee in March after evaluation by the project department and external reviewers. The final selected organizations will be announced on the Geumcheon-gu Office website and notified individually.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, “We will support various nonprofit private organizations to have opportunities to carry out public interest activities through this project call. We will thoroughly manage the selected organizations to operate their projects responsibly and expand future support measures based on their achievements.”
To assist organizations participating in this call, the district will invite instructors from the Korea Local Information Development Institute to provide training on using the Local Subsidy Management System (Botaem e-System). The training will be held on February 7 at 3:30 PM in the large auditorium on the 12th floor of Geumcheon-gu Office.
