On the 19th of last month, immediately after the issuance of an arrest warrant for President Yoon Seok-yeol, the Seoul Western District Court, which experienced a violent mob riot, will resume public trial attendance starting from the 5th.
On the 4th, the Western District Court announced through a press release that "from the 5th, entry to the court premises and buildings will be allowed for the purpose of attending public trials." However, visitors must state their purpose at the entrance to gain access.
To ensure court security and safety management, from the day after the riot occurred, only Western District Court and Western District Prosecutors' Office staff, trial parties, and lawyers were allowed entry after showing identification to the police. Since the 21st of last month, media access has also been restricted.
