7.5t Truck Collision on Ham-an Jungbu Naeryuk Expressway... Man in His 50s Dies

At around 2:20 PM on the 4th, two 7.5-ton trucks collided on the Chilwon Junction road towards Naeseo on the Jungbu Naeryuk Expressway in Chilwon-eup, Haman-gun, Gyeongnam.

According to the Highway Patrol Unit 6 of the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency, on the uphill road entering the Namhae Expressway from Chilwon Junction, a truck driven by Mr. A, in his 50s, rear-ended the vehicle driven by Mr. B, in his 60s, who was ahead.

As a result of the accident, Mr. A was transported to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest but ultimately passed away.

The accident caused a traffic jam extending about 1 km behind the scene, but traffic flow improved after around 3:40 PM.

The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident based on the testimony of driver Mr. B and footage from the vehicle's event data recorder (black box).
