POSCO E&C Donates 250 Million KRW to Incheon Community Chest of Korea

POSCO E&C announced on the 4th that it donated 250 million KRW to the Incheon Community Chest of Korea. Jung Chang-sik, Head of Management Support Division at POSCO E&C, visited the Incheon Community Chest of Korea and handed over the donation to Chairman Jo Sang-beom.

The donation will be used in various fields for the development of the local community. In particular, it will be utilized to enhance the growth potential of future generations within the region, improve the housing environment for marginalized groups, as well as contribute to marine environmental protection and low-carbon eco-friendly activities.

Based on the social contribution vision of "Building Sustainable Happiness," POSCO E&C consistently fulfills its social responsibilities. Especially, to strengthen cooperation with the Incheon local community, it is conducting various educational programs and environmental conservation activities. It operates learning guidance, mentoring, and social skills improvement programs for children at local child centers and group homes, and continues care activities in cooperation with over 30 child centers.

Additionally, POSCO E&C leverages its expertise in the construction industry to improve housing environments for vulnerable groups. Since 2013, it has improved the housing conditions of approximately 380 households and 11 social welfare facilities nationwide, including Incheon, and installed safety equipment and provided life safety supplies to 2,400 elderly living alone.

Actively participating in marine environmental protection activities, POSCO E&C has developed the Seaside Park in Yeongjongdo, Incheon, into a salt marsh plant community, providing experiential activities that raise environmental sensitivity among local residents and children.

A POSCO E&C official stated, "We will continue to discover valuable activities for coexistence with the local community, especially in difficult times, and strive to deliver hope."

Meanwhile, since relocating its headquarters to Songdo in 2010, POSCO E&C has donated a total of 4.75 billion KRW to the Incheon Community Chest of Korea over 15 years.
