Hyundai Transys announced on the 4th that it has been selected for two consecutive years as a recognized company under the 'Rural ESG Practice Recognition System,' jointly organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and the Foundation for Cooperation between Large, Small and Medium Enterprises and Agriculture and Fisheries.
The Rural ESG Practice Recognition System is a program that evaluates and acknowledges the win-win cooperation efforts and ESG practice activities of companies and institutions for the sustainable development of agriculture, fisheries, and rural areas.
Hyundai Transys was highly evaluated for leading environmental improvement and win-win activities in the rural areas of Chungnam, where its production facilities are located.
From an environmental perspective, in 2023, Hyundai Transys planted 1,730 trees in Taean-gun, Chungnam, creating a 'Carbon Neutral Volunteer Forest.' As a member of the local community, Hyundai Transys is fulfilling its responsibility to achieve carbon neutrality in Chungnam, the region with the highest domestic greenhouse gas emissions.
It also continues community-based social contribution activities. In November last year, Hyundai Transys purchased rice grown by farms near the Seosan plant, which have been struggling due to decreased rice consumption and falling rice prices, and donated it to the administrative welfare centers of Jigok-myeon and Seongyeon-myeon in Seosan City.
Since 2013, Hyundai Transys has been conducting the 'Hope Dispatch 1365' project with Seosan City to support marginalized groups in rural welfare blind spots. The company is working to create a healthy living environment for the elderly and youth by providing home repairs and walking aids to vulnerable households in the Seosan area.
Kwack Jong-hoon, head of Hyundai Transys Seosan Support Office, said, "Hyundai Transys is a company that grows together with the Chungnam region, including Seosan," and added, "We will expand support for win-win cooperation programs for the sustainable development of rural areas in Chungnam."
