Team Naver (NAVER) will participate in the global IT exhibition "LEAP 2025," known as the "Saudi version of CES," to showcase its artificial intelligence (AI) technology and infrastructure.
Team Naver participated in LEAP 2024 last year, establishing a foothold for entering the Middle Eastern market by signing MOUs with Aramco Digital and the Saudi Public Transport Company. This year, under the theme "AI in Saudi Arabia Created by Naver," it plans to introduce the AI value chain connecting data centers, cloud, and AI.
First, through a presentation, it will emphasize the importance of developing sovereign AI that preserves the country's culture and identity.
It mentioned the possibility that poorly trained AI might introduce Saudi Arabia’s unique coffee as a common Middle Eastern beverage or mistakenly identify the Saudi cultural heritage site "Madain Saleh" as Jordan’s "Petra." Based on its experience developing the world’s third-largest native language-based large language model (LLM), it will present a direction for AI development that respects Saudi Arabia’s linguistic and cultural characteristics.
As a practical example of implementing the AI value chain, it will demonstrate AI services that have been launched domestically or are preparing for commercialization. These include ▲ AI tutor providing customized learning and real-time feedback ▲ AI voice EMR that automatically converts conversations with patients into text medical records ▲ media AI that automates scene search in videos ▲ and Naver Works, a work collaboration tool enhanced with HyperCLOVA X to improve work efficiency. Through actual application cases in education, healthcare, media, and work productivity, it plans to suggest the potential for localization in Saudi Arabia.
In addition, Team Naver will exhibit physical models of the core infrastructure of its AI value chain. It will showcase its own data center operation system by displaying servers, UPS, emergency generators, air conditioning devices, and the robot "Garo" from the world-class eco-friendly data center "Gak." It will also present the hybrid cloud service "NeuroCloud" and a digital space that precisely replicates the city of Medina using digital twin technology.
Kim Yuwon, CEO of Naver Cloud, said, "Team Naver has consecutively participated in major Saudi exhibitions such as LEAP and Cityscape, showcasing our unique technological capabilities and strengthening local cooperation. We will continue to enhance our position in the global market with technology that respects the culture and identity of each country."
Meanwhile, LEAP 2025 is the largest technology exhibition in the Middle East, hosted by the Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). It will be held in Riyadh from the 9th to the 12th (local time). This year, more than 680 startups, 1,000 speakers, and 1,800 technology brands are expected to participate.
