Yeongdeungpo-gu Establishes 'Childcare Support Fund' for Families with Disabilities... 100,000 Won Paid Monthly

Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will newly launch the ‘Childcare Support Fund Project’ this year to alleviate the economic burden on families with disabled members.

This project targets families with disabled members who have children born on or after January 1, 2025, and provides support regardless of disability grade, type, income, or assets, as long as one parent (the individual or spouse) has a disability. However, applicants must have resided in the district for at least one year as of the application date.

The support fund is paid at 100,000 KRW per child per month, from the month of application until the child reaches 83 months of age.

Families wishing to apply should visit their local community service center with identification, birth certificate, and a copy of their bankbook. For more details, contact the local community center or the Senior and Disabled Affairs Division at the district office.

In addition, the district operates various welfare policies for families with disabled members.

Since 2021, a ‘Childbirth Support Fund’ has been provided, offering 500,000 KRW to families with disabled members who have newborns, and the ‘Disabled Child Family Care Support Project’ helps ease the caregiving burden for children with severe disabilities. The district also runs the ‘Disabled Family Support Center’ to provide comprehensive welfare services to families with disabled members, supporting stable family life.

Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, said, “We hope this project will reduce the economic burden on families and help children grow up in a more stable environment. We will continue to develop practical welfare policies to create an environment where no one faces difficulties in childbirth and childcare.”

Part of Senior Employment Project… Weekly Thursday Puppet Shows Tailored for Children

Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced on the 4th that elders who completed the ‘Senior Puppet Theater’ course, part of the senior employment project, have founded the senior puppet troupe ‘Eunbit Chanran’ and plan to actively engage in community activities.

All members are aged 60 or older and learned puppet theater directing and performance skills through the ‘Senior Puppet Theater’ course held at the Hyeon Jin-geon Memorial Library in Gamcho Village, Jegi-dong.

The district expects that the troupe ‘Eunbit Chanran’ will bring new vitality to the elders’ lives while providing an opportunity to give back their talents to society.

From March to December, the troupe plans to perform children-tailored puppet shows every Thursday morning mainly at kindergartens, daycare centers, and child centers within Dongdaemun-gu.

Geumcheon-gu Offers Customized Public Jobs... Recruiting Participants for ‘Neighborhood Geumcheon Hope Jobs’

Recruiting 56 people in total for 20 projects in 2025, 28 each in the first and second half of the year

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Sung-hoon) announced that it will promote the ‘Neighborhood Geumcheon Hope Jobs’ project to provide work opportunities during economically difficult times and help recover the local economy.

The Neighborhood Geumcheon Hope Jobs project is a direct job program operated independently by Geumcheon-gu. It discovers supplementary jobs aligned with local issues and demands to support low-income and employment-vulnerable groups.

This year’s first half recruitment will select 28 people for 20 projects across 10 departments. Participants will work at resident convenience facilities such as Geumha Village Hall, Single-Person Household Support Center, Geumcheon Future Job Experience Center, and various district office departments.

Applicants must be Geumcheon-gu residents aged 18 or older with work ability as of the project start date, and the combined property of household members on the resident registration must be 499 million KRW or less. Additionally, applicants must hold the required certifications or have at least one year of relevant work experience for the project department.

The wage is based on the 2025 minimum hourly wage of 10,030 KRW, and working hours and days may vary by project. For those working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, 89,000 KRW per day including meal allowance will be paid.

Residents wishing to participate should prepare identification, application form, and consent form for personal information collection and use, and apply either by visiting the relevant project department or online.

The district will review applicants’ property status, number of dependents, public job participation history, and exclusion criteria, and conduct interviews through each project department before individually notifying the final successful candidates.
