On the 1st (local time), at the Pebble Beach Golf Links (par 72, 6,972 yards) in Pebble Beach, California, USA, during the third round of the PGA Tour AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (total prize money $20 million), he recorded eight birdies and four bogeys. Shooting a 4-under-par 68 that day, he stood tied for 4th place (14-under-par 202). Jeb Straka (Austria) leads at 16-under-par 200, while Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) and Shane Lowry (Ireland) are tied for 2nd place at 15-under-par 201.

This tournament is a signature event ranked just below the four major championships and The Players Championship. Only 80 players participated, including the top 50 players in last year’s FedEx Cup rankings, this year’s tour winners, PGA Tour members ranked within the top 30 in the world rankings, and the top 10 FedEx Cup players this year among those without other qualifications.

Kim Joo-hyung is just two strokes behind the leader. Since achieving his third PGA Tour win at the 2023 Shriners Children’s Open, he is aiming for his fourth career victory after one year and four months. Earlier this week, starting from the TGL event, a screen golf tournament, he began using the Scotty Cameron Studio Style Newport 2 putter. The change from a mallet-type putter to a blade-type putter has proven highly effective.

Straka, the winner of this year’s American Express, shot a 2-under-par 70 but maintained his position at the top of the leaderboard. McIlroy surged with a 7-under-par 65, moving up from tied 12th place the previous day to tied 2nd. Lowry also dropped seven strokes to join this group. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler (USA) is tied for 10th place (10-under-par 206). From Korea, Kim Si-woo finished the third round tied for 21st (8-under-par 208), Im Sung-jae tied for 37th (6-under-par 210), and An Byeong-hun tied for 52nd (4-under-par 212).
