This year, Bitgoeul Agricultural College will operate two programs: the Regional Specialty Crop Department and the New Income Crop Department, aiming to foster representative specialty crops of the region and discover new income-generating crops adapted to the local environment.
The Specialty Crop Department will utilize a smart agriculture education package developed by the Rural Development Administration to provide comprehensive training on greenhouse vegetable cultivation techniques. The New Income Crop Department will focus on core cultivation techniques and specialized management strategies for introducing subtropical crops suitable for the region.
The curriculum includes not only theory and cultivation techniques but also diverse programs such as agricultural safety, liberal arts, group learning, and field trips to advanced sites.
Eligibility is limited to Gwangju residents who are greenhouse vegetable growers or (prospective) farmers wishing to introduce subtropical crops. Applicants should complete the required documents, including the application form, and submit them via email or in person.
The Gwangju Agricultural Technology Center operates the agricultural college every year to nurture leading local farmers who can flexibly respond to changing agricultural environments. Since its inception in 2008, Bitgoeul Agricultural College, now in its 18th year, has produced 865 professional agricultural graduates, who are actively driving innovation in Gwangju's agriculture sector.
