LG Electronics Invites Consulate Generals from 11 Countries in New York... Showcasing Innovative Technologies

LG Electronics showcased its innovation technology roadmap in front of the Consul Generals of 11 countries based in New York.

On the 29th (local time), LG Electronics invited the Consul Generals of 11 countries, including Korea, to its North American headquarters located in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, the United States, the company announced on the 31st. In collaboration with the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in New York, Consul Generals from 10 countries including Canada, Poland, Japan, Thailand, and the Philippines attended.

At this event, LG Electronics presented its innovation technology roadmap and discussed ways to strengthen partnerships between countries and the direction of future technology evolution. Kim Eui-hwan, Consul General of Korea in New York, and Jung Kyu-hwang, LG Electronics’ North America regional representative, guided the Consul Generals. The Consul Generals showed great interest in products such as the wireless and transparent OLED TV, 'LG Signature OLED T', and the portable wireless screen, 'LG StanbyMe'.

Additionally, there were reports that the event drew significant attention to the air conditioning system applied in LG Electronics’ North American headquarters, as well as to high-efficiency and eco-friendly technologies. LG Electronics’ North American headquarters has earned the platinum certification, the highest level of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), which evaluates environmental impacts such as energy efficiency and water usage. LEED is an international eco-friendly building certification system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council.

The visit by the Consul Generals based in New York is meaningful in that LG Electronics contributed to international cooperation, according to the company. LG Electronics stated that such activities are expected not only to exert a positive influence on its future global business but also to help form a favorable image of Korea.
