Pohang City announced that on the 24th, the presidents of the Pohang Regional Architects Association visited Pohang City Hall to donate a scholarship fund of 3 million won to foster local talent in celebration of the Eulsa year.

원본보기 아이콘On this day, Mayor Lee Kang-deok expressed gratitude for the scholarship donation aimed at nurturing local talent and discussed policy support measures with the architects' presidents to resolve difficulties faced at construction sites.
In particular, they explored cooperation plans with Pohang City on simplifying administrative procedures to shorten the processing period for building permits and strengthening the competitiveness of the local construction industry.
The mayor stated, “The Pohang Regional Architects Association has been dedicated to the community by leading safety inspections and emergency recovery activities whenever disasters occur,” and added, “We will do our best to shorten the permit processing period through strengthening collaboration systems with related architectural consultation organizations and departments, improving processes, and enhancing expertise.”
He also said, “Architecture is an important factor that determines the dignity of a city and a leading indicator of local economic revitalization,” and continued, “Through good architectural design, we will lead the trends of the times, create creative urban landscapes and citizen spaces, and do our best to establish Pohang’s advanced architectural culture where the past, present, and future coexist.”
The Pohang Regional Architects Association, founded in 1996, currently has 135 active members. It aims to improve the quality of buildings through architectural technology research and development and contributes to the advancement of architectural culture and the realization of public interest.
In particular, it has actively participated in emergency safety inspections and recovery activities during various disasters and provided free architectural design services for disaster victims to support the rapid securing of residential spaces.
