Kim Dong-yeon on Prosecution's Indictment of Yoon: "Relieved That Treason Punishment Is Back on Normal Track"

Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon welcomed the prosecution's indictment of President Yoon Seok-yeol as the ringleader of a rebellion and emphasized that now is the time for the economy.

On the night of the 26th, Governor Kim posted on his social media (SNS), "I welcome the indictment and detention of the ringleader of the rebellion," and stated, "The punishment of the rebellion is returning to the normal track through the rule of law."

He continued, "The issue now is the time for the economy," adding, "The economy must also return to the normal track. I once again urge bipartisan cooperation on the super supplementary budget and Trump 2.0."

Earlier, the Special Investigation Headquarters for Emergency Martial Law announced on the 26th that 54 days after the declaration of the ‘12·3 Emergency Martial Law,’ President Yoon was indicted while in custody. This is the first time in constitutional history that a sitting president has been indicted.

The prosecution explained the reason for the indictment, stating, "After comprehensively reviewing the evidence materials from accomplice cases investigated by the Special Investigation Headquarters and evidence materials from cases transferred by the police, it was judged that indicting the defendant is reasonable (appropriate)."
