Firefighters are inspecting the interior of a pig farm that caught fire to check for any remaining flames. Provided by Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters
원본보기 아이콘A fire broke out at a pig farm in Yaro-myeon, Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province, at around 8:59 a.m. on the 22nd.
According to the Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters, one pigsty was completely burned down and two others were partially damaged by the fire.
There were no human casualties, but 180 sows and 600 piglets died.
Fire authorities, who responded to a report of a fire in the farrowing house, deployed 78 personnel and 23 pieces of equipment and extinguished the fire by around 10:11 a.m. that day.
The fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire and the extent of the property damage.
