Samsung Biologics, which recorded a record-high operating profit exceeding 1.3 trillion KRW last year, has set the Excess Profit Incentive (OPI) payment at the maximum limit of 50% of the annual salary for the second consecutive year.

According to industry sources on the 23rd, John Rim, CEO of Samsung Biologics, announced at a town hall meeting for employees that "OPI has been confirmed at 50% of the annual salary." OPI is a Samsung Group performance bonus system that pays up to 50% of the annual salary within a 20% limit of excess profit based on the previous year's business performance. It is known that last year's OPI, along with two Target Achievement Incentives (TAI), were all paid at the maximum level.

Samsung Biologics' consolidated operating profit for last year was provisionally estimated at 1.3201 trillion KRW, an increase of 18.53% compared to the previous year. Sales rose 23.08% to 4.5473 trillion KRW. Samsung Biologics is the first domestic pharmaceutical and bio company to exceed 4 trillion KRW in annual sales.

Samsung Biologics plans to continue win-win management through industry-leading bonuses and welfare benefits.

Currently, Samsung Biologics provides personal pensions and welfare points, and supports welfare facilities such as dormitories, daycare centers, meals, hospitals, and convenience facilities.

Dormitories are provided free of charge for employees living long distances, and the daycare center is the largest facility in Songdo. The in-house hospital and pharmacy can be used free of charge except for some non-covered items.

Earlier, in August last year, Samsung Biologics ranked first as the most preferred employment company among natural science majors in a survey conducted by JobKorea and Albamon targeting university students and new job seekers preparing for employment at large companies.
