“We hope students eat a hearty breakfast and study well”
“We will continue to donate throughout Busan for as long as we live”

Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) announced on the 23rd that Cheongnyangsa Temple (Chief Monk Hosan) located in Bumin-dong, Seo-gu, Busan, and Beopjeongsa Temple (Chief Monk Ha-an) located in Saenggok Village, Gangseo-gu, donated 1,000 kg of rice for the Thousand-Won Breakfast program.

The rice donation ceremony was held on the 22nd at the Dong-A University Bumin Campus International Hall cafeteria, attended by Chief Monks Hosan and Ha-an, Kim Seong-mok, Head of External Cooperation at Dong-A University, and other related personnel.

At the event, Chief Monks Hosan and Ha-an said, “Based on the Buddha’s teaching of ‘Daeja-daebi’ (the compassionate heart of a Buddha or Bodhisattva who feels pity for sentient beings and seeks to bring them joy and relieve their suffering), we intend to give to all people,” adding, “It is not because we have much, but because we received support and cooperation from many people.”

They continued, “We hope students eat a hearty breakfast and study well,” and “We will continue to donate throughout Busan for as long as we live.”

The ‘Thousand-Won Breakfast’ is a government program that provides university students with breakfast for 1,000 won to support the formation of healthy eating habits, and Dong-A University has been running this program since 2023.
