Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Seo Tae-won) announced on the 23rd that Gapyeong Memorial Park will operate normally from the 28th to the 30th during the Lunar New Year holiday.
With an expected 3,000 visitors during the holiday period, the county will implement emergency duty and various safety measures to create a safe and comfortable memorial environment and alleviate traffic inconveniences.
The main measures include △ traffic control and parking order maintenance △ prohibition of bringing food and artificial flowers into the enshrinement facilities △ guidance on the use of outdoor ritual rooms △ guidance on the location of the deceased △ prior notice for dispersed visits (sent via SNS) △ environmental maintenance of enshrinement facilities.
Additionally, by increasing the number of staff on duty, support will be provided for parking guidance, food entry control, and guidance on the location of the deceased, while user promotion will be strengthened through text message distribution and banner postings.
In particular, to solve the problem of limited parking space, visitors will be encouraged to come before and after the holiday, and memorial time will be guided to be shortened to about 10 minutes to create a pleasant environment.
Ji Byeong-rok, Director of the Welfare Policy Division, said, “Many visitors are expected during this Lunar New Year holiday as well. We ask that visits be made before or after the holiday period, and we will do our best to provide visitors with a safe and convenient memorial environment.”
