Gwangju City to Provide Emergency Veterinary Services During Lunar New Year Holiday

Gwangju City announced on the 23rd that it will operate 12 emergency animal hospitals (1 in Dong-gu, 3 in Seo-gu, 2 in Nam-gu, 2 in Buk-gu, and 4 in Gwangsan-gu) during the Lunar New Year holiday from the 27th to the 30th.

As each animal hospital has different consultation days and hours, it is essential to check in advance before visiting.

Information on animal hospitals open during the holiday can be found through the 120 Call Center, Gwangju City’s official website announcements, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs website.

The city will also operate a rescue team for lost and abandoned animals during this period. If you find an abandoned animal, report it to the duty office of each district office, and they will promptly rescue and protect the animal even during the holiday.

Nam Taeksong, Director of the Agricultural Animal Policy Division, said, “We will continue to provide various animal-related information, such as animal hospitals open during holidays, for pet-owning households,” and added, “We will do our best to prevent the abandonment and loss of companion animals.”
