Fourth-quarter sales reach KRW 3.6423 trillion
Annual cloud business sales achieve KRW 2.3235 trillion
Samsung SDS's fourth-quarter results last year were recorded at KRW 3.6423 trillion in sales and KRW 211.5 billion in operating profit. Fourth-quarter sales increased by 7.9% compared to the same period last year, but operating profit decreased by 1.4%.
On the 23rd, Samsung SDS announced provisional results for last year with sales of KRW 13.0882 trillion and operating profit of KRW 911.1 billion. Sales increased by 4.2% year-on-year, and operating profit rose by 12.7%.
By business sector, annual sales in the IT services business were recorded at KRW 6.4014 trillion, up 4.8% from the previous year. In particular, the cloud business achieved annual sales of KRW 2.3235 trillion, growing 23.5% year-on-year.
The cloud business grew evenly across both the CSP business and MSP business based on the Samsung Cloud Platform (SCP). Sales increased due to the launch of public cloud services at the Daegu Center and the construction of next-generation systems in the financial and public sectors.
Sales in the logistics sector recorded KRW 7.4268 trillion, up 3.6% from the previous year.
The digital logistics platform Cello Square steadily grew, recording sales of KRW 306 billion in the fourth quarter, a 27% increase compared to the same period last year. The number of customers subscribed to the Cello Square platform also continued to increase, surpassing 19,400 companies.
