Jeonnam Province Provides Agricultural, Marine, and Livestock Product Packages to Single-Parent Families for Seol Holiday

Jeollanam-do will provide agricultural, marine, and livestock product packages to more than 8,000 low-income single-parent households for the Lunar New Year holiday.

This package support project was established to enhance the welfare of vulnerable groups during the winter season and to revitalize the consumption of local agricultural, marine, and livestock products, thereby contributing to the recovery of the local economy.

The packages are filled with fresh local specialty products from various regions.

Kim Youngrok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, said, "I hope that these agricultural, marine, and livestock product packages will not only serve as warm holiday gifts for vulnerable households, but also become an opportunity to boost the local economy by revitalizing the consumption of local products," and added, "We will continue to promote various welfare policies that provide practical help to our residents."

Starting this year, Jeollanam-do plans to reduce the child-rearing burden on low-income single-parent families by increasing the monthly child-rearing allowance to 230,000 won per child, and the allowance for children of adolescent single parents to 370,000 won per child. In addition, the recipients of school supply support will be expanded from only middle and high school students to include elementary school students as well.
