Gochang County in North Jeolla Province announced on the 23rd that it will hold a 1+1 donation event to promote the Hometown Love Donation campaign for the Lunar New Year.
The event will run from the 25th until the county reaches its 2024 target of 300 million won in Hometown Love Donations.
To participate, donors who contribute at least 100,000 won to the county and request a thank-you gift will be entered into a draw, where 50 winners will receive an additional thank-you gift worth 30,000 won on top of the regular gift.
In addition, when the 300 million won goal is achieved, one donor will be selected to receive a special commemorative gift of a Sangha Farm accommodation voucher.
The county has received a great response by offering a wide variety of local specialty thank-you gifts, such as Gochang rice, Gochang Pungcheon eel, Gochang peanuts, Gochang sweet potatoes, and Gochang gift certificates.
In particular, since the end of last year, designated donation projects such as "Gochang's Star Fostering Project Season 1 - Support for Yeongseon High School Baseball Team" and the "Gochang Youth Future Bright Program" have been implemented to support local youth, who are the future of the region.
Yu Changhyeong, head of the Administrative Support Division, said, "We hope many people will participate in the Hometown Love Donation campaign and enjoy the benefits through this Lunar New Year 1+1 event," adding, "The funds raised will be used carefully for the future of Gochang County, including agricultural product sales support and youth support projects."
