Guro-gu has officially announced the launch of the 2025 Garden Support Center programs.
Opened last year, the Guro-gu Garden Support Center received great response by operating participatory programs where residents can directly engage in gardening activities and experience nature.
From October to the end of December last year, over 1,100 people participated in six programs including one-day classes, gardens for families, and a companion plant clinic. More than 2,000 visitors came to the Garden Support Center experience booth set up during the ‘1st Guro Garden Festa,’ held every weekend from October 5 to 26.
This year, the district will continue to offer experiential programs for various age groups including children, adolescents, and adults through the Garden Support Center.
First, from Tuesday to Saturday every week, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., Seoul citizen gardeners will be stationed at the Garden Support Center to provide companion plant consultations.
There will also be a variety of programs including experiential activities for families and one-day classes using home gardening kits.
Every Friday at 10 a.m. until February 28, one-day classes for adults will be held.
The program schedule is as follows: ▲ January 17 ? Our Garden (Making a Garden Diary) ▲ January 24 ? Jinttobaegi (Making a Sotdae) ▲ January 31 ? Hydroponic Planting Using Bulbous Plants (Hyacinth Hydroponics) ▲ February 7 ? Stories of Climbing Plants (Hanging) ▲ February 14 ? Happy Valentine (Table Centerpiece) ▲ February 21 ? Garden Collage (Making a Garden Bag) ▲ February 28 ? Embracing the Scent of Spring (Making a Spring-appropriate Perfume). Any Guro-gu resident can participate.
The participation fee is 5,000 KRW per person, and 14 participants per session will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through the Seoul Public Reservation Service website. For more details, visit the Guro-gu Office website or contact the Parks and Greenery Division of the district office.
A Guro-gu official stated, “We expect that the various programs at the Garden Support Center will greatly contribute to improving the physical and mental health of our residents,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to spread a gardening culture that residents can cultivate and enjoy together.”
