On the first day of the support fund application, the 21st, Mayor Kim visited the Papyung-myeon Administrative Welfare Center, and on the second day, the 22nd, he visited the Unjeong Administrative Welfare Center to thoroughly check the overall operation of the dedicated counters. Mayor Kim carefully examined every detail, including whether the application system was running smoothly, the guidance for counter locations and flow structure to assist citizen convenience, and the consultation and communication processes at the counters. He repeatedly emphasized the importance of special consideration for the elderly and vulnerable citizens who mostly visit the dedicated counters for on-site applications due to difficulties with online applications through the internet homepage.

Interest and response from citizens regarding Paju City’s Living Stability Support Fund for Livelihood Recovery, which provides 100,000 KRW per person in local currency Paju Pay, were enthusiastic. Despite a one-month application period until February 20, on the very first day alone, 54,269 people applied for the fund, accounting for 10.62% of the total 510,984 eligible recipients. Among them, 31,120 applied online (5.89%), and 24,157 applied on-site by visiting the dedicated counters (4.73%).

Mayor Kim Kyung-il of Paju City said, “I firmly believe that this support fund will ease the household burdens struggling with high inflation and high interest rates and serve as a catalyst to breathe warmth into the frozen local markets and invigorate the regional economy.” He added, “Since this fund was prepared to be a source of strength for everyone to endure this difficult and urgent time, we will fulfill our administrative role to ensure that no one is left out from receiving support.”

The application period for Paju City’s Living Stability Support Fund for Livelihood Recovery is from the 21st to February 20. To prevent congestion during the first week of applications from the 21st to the 24th, a four-day rotational system based on the last digit of the birth year will be applied for both online and offline applications.

Citizens who already use the existing Paju Pay card can apply online through the Paju City Living Stability Support Fund website. If they do not have a Paju Pay card, they can visit their local eup/myeon/dong administrative welfare center, receive assistance from staff to issue a Paju Pay card on the spot, and then apply for the support fund.

Online applications are available from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., including weekends and holidays (such as Lunar New Year holidays). Counter visits for applications are available on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The usage period for the Living Stability Support Fund is until June 30, 2025, and any unused amount after the expiration date will be automatically forfeited.

Especially, if citizens already possess a Paju Pay card, they can receive prompt payment by applying online or by bringing the card when visiting the application counters.
