On the 21st, employees of Korea Gas Corporation Gwangju-Jeonnam Headquarters visited the Migrant Comprehensive Support Center, which helps Koryoin children and youth adapt to life in Korea ahead of Seollal, and delivered school supplies, snacks, tumblers, and other items that the children had wished for as gifts.
The donated funds will be used not only for Seollal holiday gifts, but also for operating costs of book education programs aimed at improving bilingual proficiency in both Korean and their native Russian language.
Lee Hyojin, Head of Korea Gas Corporation Gwangju-Jeonnam Headquarters, said, "With the traditional holiday Seollal approaching, we wanted to share warmth with Koryoin children who are living in difficult circumstances."
Jeon Deukan, Head of the Migrant Comprehensive Support Center, said, "It feels like Santa Claus visited in January. Since daily life is not abundant, the children were lacking school supplies and other necessities for their studies, so we are very grateful for this generous gift," adding, "As descendants of independence activists, we will do our best to help the children inherit the spirit of their ancestors, settle well in Korea, and grow into outstanding individuals."
