The number of transactions on the secondhand trading platform Bungaejangter increased by approximately 63% compared to the previous year. The total number of product listings exceeded 41 million.
On the 22nd, Bungaejangter announced the "2024 Secondhand Report," which summarizes last year's key achievements and consumer trends. The report contains an analysis of Bungaejangter usage data from January to December of last year.
According to the report, the MZ generation accounts for 78% of all Bungaejangter users. Additionally, users are most active between 9 PM and 11 PM, especially on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. About 46% of daily transactions occur during this time, and transaction rates are higher on weekdays than on weekends.
The item traded over the longest distance was the "Stussy Checkerboard Beanie." This product traveled approximately 890 km from Sokcho-si, Gangwon-do to Seogwipo Jungmun, Jeju-do, demonstrating the potential of secondhand trading to overcome regional and distance barriers. The fastest sold item was the "Chanel Camellia Shoulder Bag Patent," which was sold just 12.7 seconds after being listed.
A Bungaejangter representative stated, "Secondhand trading is not a temporary trend but reflects the flow of modern consumer culture and continues to grow steadily," adding, "In the new year of 2025, Bungaejangter will continue to promote sustainable consumption culture and establish itself as a platform that connects trust and value beyond transactions."
